VANCOUVER, Wash. 鈥 The Collective for Social and Environmental Justice at Washington State University Vancouver will present its spring symposium, 鈥淓nvironmental and Climate Justice Practices,鈥 on April 8 on campus. The symposium will run from 10:20 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110. It is free and open to the public.
Highlights include the following:

Gail Small, 鈥淐limate Justice in Indian Country.鈥 Small is a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and professor of Native American Studies at Montana State University.
1:30 鈥 2:45 p.m.
Rik Scarce, 鈥淭rajectories of Injustices: Reflections on Three Decades of Radical Environmentalism.鈥 He is a WSU alumnus and professor of sociology at Skidmore College.
2:45 鈥 4 p.m.
Cindy Wiesner, 鈥淚t Takes Roots: Frontline Communities at COP21 and Beyond.鈥 She is national coordinator for the Grassroots Global Justice Alliance and co-chair of the Climate Justice Alliance and the Our Power Campaign.
The event will open with an invocation by Chief Roy Wilson of the Cowlitz tribe. There will be a break for lunch.
