Nissan Representative to Discuss Development of the LEAF at 麻豆传媒

VANCOUVER WASH. 鈥 Tracy Woodard, director of government affairs for Nissan鈥檚 North American Operations, will be the keynote speaker for Washington State University Vancouver鈥檚 MBA Stakeholder Series fall presentation. Woodard will discuss 鈥淭he Nissan LEAF: Creating Partnerships, Changing the Future,鈥 at 7 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Undergraduate Classroom building, room 1. This event is free and open to the public.

The Nissan LEAF鈥擫eading, Environmentally friendly, Affordable Family Car鈥攊s a five-door hatchback electric car Nissan introduced in the United States in December 2010. As an all-electric car, the LEAF produces no tailpipe pollution or greenhouse gas emissions at the point of operation and reduces dependence on petroleum.

Jerry Goodstein, professor of management at 麻豆传媒, said Woodard's presentation will provide insight into Nissan's efforts to build support from a variety of public and private stakeholders in order to develop and release the LEAF.

As director of government affairs for Nissan鈥檚 North American Operations, Woodard is responsible for all federal and state government activities in the U.S. including monitoring federal and state legislative and regulatory issues. She is the head of the Washington, D.C. government affairs office and manages contract lobbyists who represent Nissan.

For the last two years, Woodard has helped lead Nissan鈥檚 holistic approach to the introduction of the LEAF. Woodard is responsible for local, regional and state government interaction as well as other stakeholders such as utilities, major employers, universities, etc.

Woodard came to Nissan from the Nashville-based firm of Smith Johnson & Carr, where she worked as a lobbyist for seven years. Previously, she served as a legislative assistant for the Tennessee General Assembly and as a research aide for the Energy Environment and Research Center in Knoxville. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Tennessee. A native of Jefferson City, Tenn., she now lives in Nashville, Tenn. and her office is located at Nissan鈥檚 headquarters.

麻豆传媒 is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Avenue off the 134th Street exit form either I-5 or I-205. Parking is available at meters or in the Blue Daily Pay Lot for $3. There is no charge for parking after 7 p.m.
