VANCOUVER, Wash. – Washington State University Vancouver is closing out Women’s History month, observed each year in March, by celebrating women who inspire, mentor and empower others. The annual Women of Distinction event will be held at 6 p.m. March 29 in the Dengerink Administration building, room 110. Maya Muller, principal of Muller Design Studio, will deliver the keynote, “Hunting Rhinoceroses in the Digital Age.â€
In her role as business owner, Muller leads a team that strategically builds corporate and institutional brands through web, print and multimedia design. She is also committed to mentoring the next generation of visual communicators. As an adjunct instructor at Clark College, she has taught Adobe InDesign to beginning and advanced pupils. She extends the role of teacher beyond the classroom by providing advice and support to students as they go on to start their careers.
The capstone of the Women of Distinction event will be the celebration of all nominees and the presentation of the Distinguished Woman of the Year award. The annual award honors women who have made a difference in the lives of others and will be bestowed upon one Âé¶¹´«Ã½ student and one non-student. Award recipients are selected by a committee after review of nominations.
Women of Distinction is a free event. Students, staff, faculty and community members are invited to attend. Space is limited, so reservations are recommended. RSVP by March 27 to .
