麻豆传媒 lecture series inspires women to explore science and technology

The Politics of Science and TechnologyVANCOUVER, Wash. 鈥 Washington State University Vancouver is offering a Women鈥檚 Studies Lecture Series 鈥淭he Politics of Science and Technology: Moving toward Gender Equity, Civic Responsibility and Social Justice.鈥 The series begins in January and concludes in April. All lectures will be held from noon 鈥 1:15 p.m. in the Multimedia Classroom Building, Room 6, and are free and open to the public.

The lecture series will provide a unique crossroad of researchers, activists, educators, practitioners and students whose goal is to educate, inspire and empower women to explore the sciences and technology.

Featured lectures include:

Jan. 28: 鈥淔eminist Science Studies in the Postgenomic Era: Epistemology, Methodology, and Pedagogy鈥
Lisa Weasel, associate professor, department of women, gender, and sexuality studies, Portland State University

Feb. 25: 鈥淲omen and IT: Globally Located Perspective,鈥 panel discussion
Sri Craven, assistant professor, department of women, gender, and sexuality studies, Portland State University, will moderate

March 10: 鈥淪ocial Justice and Older Women in the Acute Care Setting鈥
Troy Kindy, LCSW, department of care management, Oregon Health & Science University

April 7: 鈥淲omen in Paleoanthropology: One Cavewoman鈥檚 Encounter with Homo naledi鈥
Alia Gurtov, Ph.D. candidate in anthropology, University of Wisconsin, Madison
