VANCOUVER, Wash. – As part of its yearlong 25th anniversary celebration, Washington State University Vancouver will host a major festival, the 25th Anniversary , from 3 to 8 p.m. Sept. 6. Free and open to the public, the event includes food, music, art and historical exhibits, kids’ activities and much more.

Open house 3 – 5 p.m.

Things to Do
• Check in at the Welcome booth and get a reusable grocery bag.
• Get a Butch T. Cougar balloon animal.
• Help artist Erin Dengerink complete a sidewalk-chalk mural.
• Take an environmental history tour of campus
• Taste WSU’s famous Cougar Gold cheese at Legacy Square.
• Sign up for the Alumni Association, and learn about Cougs in the Community projects.
• Say “cheese” in the photo booth.
• Explore �鶹��ý’s history at the interactive timeline in the Firstenburg Student Commons.
• Let one of �鶹��ý’s student ambassadors take you on a guided tour of campus.
• Meet Stella the service dog, who listens to little Cougars read to in the Child Development Program.
• Enjoy a festive 25th anniversary cupcake.
• Show your Cougar spirit—buy a T-shirt at The Bookie.

Things to See and Hear
• Enjoy KOUG radio’s music and DJs.
• Visit the Multimedia Classroom Building for a fine arts exhibit and hands-on art activities.
• Tour the creative media and digital culture MOVE lab and view the new multimedia “Curlew.”
• Admire the exhibit of �鶹��ý historical artifacts in the library.
• See the “Community Art Show” of faculty, staff and student art in the Dengerink Administration Building.
• Take a peek at �鶹��ý’s new Student Diversity Center.
• Help “Steampunk Alphabet” author Nat Iwata create a new character at 3:30 p.m. in the library.
• Listen to Thousand Waves perform live music at 4 p.m. in the library.

Things to Learn
• Learn the A-Z of Financial Aid & Scholarships at 3:30 p.m., Dengerink Administration Building, Room 110.
• Talk to admissions counselors and financial-aid experts to get all your questions answered.
• Explore the Science and Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering Building labs.
• Take part in educational activities in science, neuroscience and math.
• Learn how to advance your nursing career through �鶹��ý’s College of Nursing.
• Meet leaders from student government, and student clubs and organizations.
• Pick up the latest edition of the VanCougar student newspaper and the “Salmon Creek Journal.”
• Learn about the Hospitality Business Management Program and our student-led business consulting service.
• Play with tools and toys designed to teach and entertain with faculty from the College of Education.
• See a list of Cougar-owned businesses in our region from restaurants to landscape companies to clothing boutiques.

Live music 5:30 – 8 p.m.

Live music in the amphitheater starts begins with Lincoln’s Beard, an alternative/folk/rock band from Vancouver, Wash. Sean Flinn & The Royal We, a popular Portland-area band, will perform at 7 p.m. Food will be available for purchase, and picnics are welcome. No alcohol or firearms, please.

Parking on campus will be free. To accommodate the festival, the #19 C-Tran bus will serve �鶹��ý every half hour during the celebration. The first bus will leave the 99th Street Transit Center at 1:40 p.m., arriving at �鶹��ý at 1:50 p.m.; and the last bus will leave �鶹��ý at 9 p.m.
