麻豆传媒 recognizes outstanding business students for their consulting work

Business Growth Mentor & AnalysisVANCOUVER, Wash. 鈥 Washington State University Vancouver鈥檚 Carson College of Business celebrated the sixth anniversary of its Business Growth Mentor and Analysis Program Wednesday night with an event to recognize the businesses, volunteers and students involved in the program.

Created in 2011, Business Growth MAP is a pro-bono student-led consultancy. Student teams of four or five help with needs businesses identify, including startup, growth, marketing and accounting. Volunteer mentors from the business community meet with student teams weekly during the semester-long project to offer advice and feedback. Faculty members from the Carson College of Business oversee each project.

This year four student teams were recognized for outstanding work.

Drake Striping & Painting, Vancouver, does pavement marking. The student team did a business assessment and created recommendations for increasing efficiencies, accounting solutions and branding鈥攕ome of which were adopted before the spring semester ended.

Industrial Training International, Inc., Woodland, provides crane, rigging, load handling training and consulting to corporate clients and individuals. Students focused on recommendations to help the company meet its aggressive growth goals.

Wolff Specialties, Vancouver, is an automotive repair company that specializes in alternative fuel conversions for auto gas. The student team focused on organizational and operational recommendations, and created a quote-configuration tool, a forecasting tool and a draft employee handbook.

Sellberg鈥檚 Tavern, Vancouver, was established in 1934 and considers itself Vancouver鈥檚 鈥淐heers.鈥 The student team recommended specific brand wording, structure, pricing and a realistic timeline that could be easily implemented.
