MEDIA ADVISORY: Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Welcomes Incoming Students to ROAR - Registration, Orientation, Advising and Resources
WHAT: Students will meet with advisors to plan courses, take a campus tour, get their student IDs, and register for fall classes. Guests will learn about paying for college, ways to support their students, and the rich academic life of Âé¶¹´«Ã½.
WHO: Incoming freshmen to attend Âé¶¹´«Ã½, starting fall semester 2008, and their guests (usually parents).
WHERE: Âé¶¹´«Ã½ campus, 14204 NE Salmon Creek Avenue.
WHEN: July 25, 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., family session also available, or 1 p.m. to 5:20 p.m., students only. All students - freshmen and transfers - will have a second orientation Aug. 19 and 20.
WHY: "ROAR helps freshmen feel welcome and a part of the Cougar family from their first day on campus," said Nancy Youlden, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. "Registering for courses is important, but meeting other new students and feeling comfortable with the staff, campus and expectations helps make their experience here successful. ROAR is really about student success."
