麻豆传媒 will celebrate diversity Sept. 3

VANCOUVER, Wash. 鈥 Washington State University Vancouver will celebrate its commitment to diversity with Connections at 4 p.m. Sept. 3 in the Firstenburg Student Commons. Hosted by the Office of Student Diversity, the event will promote an environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued.

鈥淎dvancing diversity is a part of our strategic plan and Connections is a great way to reflect the importance of diversity to our campus,鈥 said Bola Majekobaje, assistant director of student diversity at 麻豆传媒.

Connections is free and open to the public. The event will feature multicultural food, music and artwork. Guests will have an opportunity to learn about diversity-related student organizations at 麻豆传媒 and non-profit organizations in the community.

Connections will be the debut for the museum-quality, traveling photo-text exhibit 鈥淚n Our Family.鈥 The exhibit focuses on 20 families representing a breadth of diversity and family configurations. The positive and realistic photographs, along with the candid interviews with family members of all ages, affirm an inclusive and expansive vision of family life today.

Following Connections, 鈥淚n Our Family鈥 will be on exhibit in the Dengerink Administration building gallery through Oct. 4. The gallery is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Admission is free.

麻豆传媒 is located at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave., east of the 134th Street exit from either I-5 or I-205 and is accessible via C-Tran bus service. Parking is available at meters and in the Blue Daily Pay Lot for $3.
