麻豆传媒鈥檚 MBA Stakeholders Series Event to Explore the Stakeholder Culture of Whole Foods Market

VANCOUVER, Wash. 鈥 Whole Foods Market鈥檚 regional vice president of operations, Bruce Silverman, will discuss the development of Whole Foods Market鈥檚 values and culture at Washington State University Vancouver鈥檚 spring installment of the MBA Stakeholder Series. Silverman will speak at 7 p.m. March 19 in the Undergraduate Classroom building, room 1. The event is free and open to the public.

Founded in 1980 in Austin, Texas, Whole Foods Market is the nation鈥檚 leading natural and organic food retailer. As America鈥檚 first national certified organic grocer, Whole Foods Market has earned its title of 鈥淎merica鈥檚 Healthiest Grocery Store.鈥

With more than 23 years of experience at Whole Foods Market, Silverman understands the company鈥檚 unique team member and stakeholder culture. Silverman will discuss the development of Whole Foods Market鈥檚 core values, stakeholder vs. shareholder thinking and the systems Whole Foods Market uses to infuse its values into stakeholder relationships.

Jerry Goodstein, professor of management at 麻豆传媒, views Silverman鈥檚 visit as a valuable opportunity for students and community members to further their knowledge about stakeholder-business relationships.

鈥淪ilverman will discuss how Whole Foods Market puts into practice its unique 鈥楧eclaration of Interdependence,鈥欌 said Goodstein. 鈥淎 declaration which represents its philosophy about how Whole Foods Market works with stakeholders to further their mutual interests.鈥

Goodstein also believes Silverman鈥檚 experience provides him with a rich and unique perspective for sharing his insights into Whole Foods Market鈥檚 values and stakeholder relationships. Silverman has served as regional coordinator of prepared foods, regional vice president of marketing, global vice president of private label and regional vice president of operations for Whole Foods Market.
